Frequently Asked Questions

Real questions, honest answers.

What makes Muso incense all-natural?

Every stick is made from natural materials — sandalwood, agarwood, cedar, benzoin — blended by hand, with nothing synthetic to mask the burn. Our rule is simple: if it doesn't come from a plant, it doesn't go in.

How long does a stick burn?

Our sticks burn about 30–45 minutes, depending on the blend. Long enough to settle the room, short enough to start a ritual without a time commitment.

Will it smoke too much for indoors?

Natural incense gives off a gentle, quiet smoke — much softer than the sticky, perfumed kind that lingers for hours. Keep a window cracked and let small spaces breathe, and it stays a comfort rather than a cloud.

Is it safe around pets?

Natural ingredients are gentler, but any smoke can be a lot for small animals. Use it in a well-ventilated room, keep it out of reach, and give your pets somewhere to move away if they want. When in doubt, burn a little less often.

Where is your incense made?

By artisan makers in Japan and China who have spent decades perfecting this craft. We work with them directly, source natural materials with care, and don't cut corners on what goes into the stick.

How do I use an incense holder?

Light the tip, let it glow for a few seconds, blow out the flame, and place it. The holder catches the ash so you can enjoy the scent without the mess. Almost all of our holders take a standard stick.

What about shipping?

Orders over $59 ship free in the US. We ship from US and China warehouses, and incense and holders may arrive in separate packages. Delivery is typically 7–13 business days.

What's your return policy?

We want you to love the ritual, so returns are easy within 180 days on holders in unused condition. Incense, being something you burn, isn't returnable once opened — but if a stick ever disappoints you, tell us and we'll make it right.

Do you offer gift sets?

Yes. Our sampling sets make easy, thoughtful gifts — a few different scents to explore in one box, so the person unwrapping it gets a little ritual of their own.
